Note: This rare and fantastic agate bead, with its barrel shape, exhibits a multitude of vibrant colors in various shades of white, beautiful bandings can be seen.  The piece shows signs of surface wear. In addition to an oily sheen, from we suspect are surface digs, or cuts on the surface of the bead for use in medicinal purposes and/or offering.  It is said that these shavings harnessed the power of the bead which would, in turn, enhance the potency of medicines or rituals that they were placed in.  Having said that, it is important to note that these marks are not defects.  There are signs of minor end wear (wear around the openings).
